Nook Tablet tops Kindle Fire traffic share, iPad still dominates market with 91%

Apple’s iPad may be alone at the top when it comes to tablet traffic, but some movement down at the bottom earlier this month is raising a few eyebrows. Barnes & Noble’s Nook Tablet has been a quiet success story ever since it first launched in 2010 as the Nook Color, and it looks like the eReader/tablet combo still has some fight left in it. Amazon’s Kindle Fire has garnered far more attention than its B&N counterpart since it launched late last year, but according to ad network Chitika, the Nook Tablet’s share of traffic across its massive...

Fragmentation fighters bring Apple’s 3D maps, navigation to iPhone 4 [video]

There are two sides to “fragmentation,” and while Apple’s iOS 6 software doesn’t necessarily have big negative implications for developers, users with older Apple devices will be missing out on some great new features when iOS 6 is released later this year. Gears are already turning, however, and the iOS developer community is doing its best to bring previous-generation iOS device users all the new features they can. While the hack is a bit messy for the time being, Russian website iGuides has published a guide that will allow iPhone 4 owners to...

The judge claimed the case would overload her calendar, as she is overseeing Apple’s high-stakes trial against Samsung that is schedule to begin in July. Koh’s decision comes shortly after a federal judge tossed out Apple’s upcoming case against...
